Proposals tabled

The ABF team met with the Directorate of Minority, KMDC, KSMC, the Minority Minister, and MLAs to advocate for the inclusion of minority demands in the State Budget.

Following face-to-face meetings and discussions, an ABF delegation articulated a comprehensive set of demands aimed at addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by minority populations. These were presented to the state ministers at Vidhana Soudha.

The seven proposals

  1. Nagrik Sahaya Kendra
  2. Dialysis Sahaya Centre
  3. Drugs De-addiction Sahaya Centre
  4. Counselling Sahaya Centre
  5. NIOS Empanelment
  6. Community Centres in three Bengaluru locations (Central, North, South)
  7. Kannada Language Awareness Centre

Outcome

The government ministers demonstrated a receptive attitude towards the proposals and expressed commitment to ensuring that minority concerns are duly considered and integrated into the State Budget.

ABF continues to follow these proposals through to implementation as part of the broader Minority Welfare & Public Policy Research programme β€” the work isn’t finished when a meeting ends.
