Active Health
A 24/7 medical helpline that routes the underprivileged to the right government care.

In April 2024, ABF launched a unique helpline — +91 93640 24365 — that anyone in India can use to access treatment at government facilities in Karnataka and take advantage of government medical schemes. Full-time call operators are on the line 24/7, 365 days a year.
The premise is simple but rare: poor people end up in expensive corporate hospitals not because they want to, but because they don’t know where else to go. Active Health closes that information gap. Our team listens to the case, identifies the right government hospital or scheme (Ayushman Bharat, Arogya Karnataka, SAST coverage, district-level facilities), and walks the family through the process.
Why this matters
Private hospitals in Bengaluru routinely quote ₹3–25 lakh for procedures that government tertiary-care hospitals provide free or near-free under existing state schemes. The bottleneck is awareness, paperwork, and a phone call to the right person — not money.
Active Health is now a hallmark that other NGOs themselves rely on: when one of their beneficiaries needs medical guidance, they dial +91 93640 24365.
How it works
- You call — any time, any day. Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, or English.
- We triage — type of case (oncology, paediatric, cardiac, nephrology, neurology, etc.), severity, location, financial situation.
- We route — to the right government hospital and the right scheme. We give you the doctor’s name, the department, and the OPD timing.
- We follow up — every case is logged, and we close the loop by checking whether the patient was admitted and treated.
Live impact
The counter strip across this site pulls live numbers from our internal dashboard. As of the latest update — 1,625 cases, ₹3.77 crore saved.

Ambulance support
In June 2024, the Special Initiatives Riders (SIR) — a philanthropic group of riders we worked with during COVID — gifted ABF a fully equipped ambulance. It is now integrated into Active Health operations, available free of charge to cases that come in through the helpline. We installed GPS trackers and a dashcam to keep it accountable 24/7.
Origins
Active Health is the project that crystallised ABF’s whole thesis: be a bridge, not a duplicate. Karnataka’s government healthcare system is genuinely strong on paper. The gap is at the last mile — the phone call that connects a frightened family to the right doctor on the right day. That’s the gap we close.
