When a flood, a building collapse, or a heatwave hits, the difference between rescue and tragedy is often hours — sometimes minutes. By the time supplies are sourced, the window is closed.
ABF’s Disaster Equipment Bank is being built to remove that delay.
What we are building
- Power — portable generators
- Water rescue — inflatable boats, life jackets, ropes
- Search and recovery — concrete cutters, drills, hard hats, safety boots
- Personal protection — masks, gloves, eye protection
- Coordination kit — high-vis jackets, communication equipment, first-aid
Why we are doing this
Our 2024 response to Tuticorin floods and 2024 deployment of Project ZAM ZAM during Bengaluru’s water crisis taught us the same lesson twice: the volunteers and the will exist; the physical equipment is the bottleneck.
This bank, once stocked, will be available to ABF teams and to partner NGOs in Karnataka and beyond — true to our bridge-not-duplicate model.
How to contribute
